  • How many Status Points will I earn under 2x?

    You will earn 5 Status Points per € Euro spent on the base fare and ancillaries instead of the usual 2.5 Status Points.

    If your flight base earn is 100 Status Points, under 2x you will earn a total of 200 Status Points.


  • What is the Status Match offer?

    KM Rewards, the loyalty program of KM Malta, offers customers who have frequent flyer status with an eligible loyalty program to apply for KM Rewards Traveller, Explorer or Pioneer status based on their status tier.

    To be eligible, the status holder must also hold a United Kingdom, Swiss, or European passport. You may be requested to provide this as part of the application process.


  • Do I have to be a KM Rewards member to participate in the offer?

    Yes, to be eligible, you first need to create a free KM Rewards membership account. To enroll, go to: https://kmmaltairlines.com/en/create-account


  • What airline and hotel status levels are eligible to apply?

    You must hold an elite status with an eligible travel brand listed in the table further below to apply and be prepared to provide your passport details.


  • What travel rewards credit cards are eligible for status matching?

    You must hold an eligible travel rewards credit card and pay the application fee with that credit card (other cards will be declined).


  • Are there eligibility requirements beyond having status with an eligible travel brand?

    The status match offer is currently only open to customers in Europe and the UK.


  • What KM Rewards status can I obtain through the campaign?

    Approved customers will receive Traveller, Explorer or Pioneer based on the equivalent elite status level with their current airline.

    Hotel status holders and travel rewards credit card holders can only match to the Traveller or Explorer tiers.

    Eligibility to match to each tier will depend on the level of hotel status or the type of credit card they hold.

  • How long is status valid for if my status match request is approved?

    You will receive status until March 31, 2027. To retain your status past this date, you must re-qualify based on meeting the published status programme requirements at https://kmmaltairlines.com/en/km-rewards/km-rewards-status-points-tiers

    Members who don't meet the published criteria to retain a tier will receive a 'soft landing' to the tier below in line with prorgram T&C.


  • What are the associated application fees to apply?

    You must firstly be eligible to apply for the associated tier.

    Traveller: EUR 59
    Explorer: EUR 99
    Pioneer: EUR 199

  • Will I receive the annual SkyBux bonus for reaching the tier through the status match?

    No, Tier Milestone Bonus will only be awarded when a member organically reaches the tier threshold with the required number of status points for each KM Elite tier.


  • How long will this KM Rewards Status Match offer be available for?

    KM Rewards and StatusMatch.com reserve the right to end or amend the campaign anytime. Get in fast!


  • What information do I need to participate in the Status Match campaign?

    To participate in the campaign, you need to apply, upload details of your other program status, pay the associated application fee and use a valid email address where we can communicate with you.

    During the application process, we will also ask you for proof of your other program status (for example, a photo of your card), and you may be required to provide other personal details, such as passport, to help us validate your eligibility.

    If you are applying for the match through your travel rewards credit card, you must pay the application fee with the eligible credit card.


  • How soon will I have my new KM Rewards status?

    You will be informed within three (3) business days following your completed application of the requested information and documentation whether or not your status match has been approved. Once approved, your new status will appear on your account within (5) business days.


  • I successfully matched with KM Rewards and since then, my other status has been upgraded to an even higher tier. Can I get my KM Rewards status updated/upgraded?

    No. Status Matches are calculated on the tier you hold at the time of application.

    If you are, for example, about to be upgraded to the next tier with your other brand - we recommend applying for the KM Rewards Status Match after you have that higher tier in your account.

    Only 1 match is allowed per person.


  • What happens if my application is not approved?

    If your application is not approved, you will be notified by e-mail. Your application fee will be refunded.

  • How does the Status Points Booster product work?

    When you subscribe to a 2x booster subscription, you will earn double Status Points on the base fare and ancillaries for in all eligible flights during your active subscription period. The total amount awarded will be visible in the transaction history in the Member Portal of the KM Malta Airlines website and in the KM Rewards app.

    Each booster is active for 90 days. It is an automatically recurring product, and it is renewed every 90 days so that you may enjoy receiving the bonus Status Points so long as you are subscribed to an active booster subscription plan.


  • What is the cost of the Booster?

    The 2x Status Booster is launching with promotional pricing. For a limited time, members can subscribe to a 90-day Booster for €75.

    The promotional pricing can end at any time. Standard pricing is €99 for 90 days.


  • What flights are eligible for 2x status booster?

    All KM Malta flights are eligible for the booster.


  • When will my bonus Status Points reflect in my account?

    Bonus Status Points earned through the Booster are credited at the same time as your standard Status Points.


  • I booked a flight days/months ago. Is that flight eligible for bonuses under the booster product?

    Yes, so long as you fly the flight while you have an active Status Points Booster subscription.


  • I have a flight in the next 24 hours, will it be eligible?

    Yes - As long as you purchase the Status Points Booster at least 12 hours prior to departure.

    For example, if you have a flight today/tomorrow, and you purchase a Status Points Booster today - your flight today will not receive bonus Status Points.


  • Can anyone buy the Status Points Booster?

    The Status Points Booster is only available to KM Rewards members.


  • How long is my Status Points Booster subscription valid?

    Your Status Points Booster subscription will remain active and valid from 12 hours after you subscribe until the end of 90 days.

    Once the 90 days have passed, your subscription will automatically renew for the same duration unless you have cancelled the subscription.


  • If I am flying tomorrow and purchase the Status Points booster today, will the points on that flight be boosted?

    No, you must purchase the Status Points Booster at least 12 hours prior to any flight.


  • How much is the Status Points Booster?

    The launch pricing is as follows: 2x Status Booster -- Double Status Points for €75 for 90 days (Regularly €99).

  • What will appear on my credit card statement?

    Your card statement charges will appear as 'STATUS POINTS BOOSTER' and will be charged in Euros (€).

    Note: You may see a reference to our payment subscription provider 'LOYALTY DATA CO' located in Singapore on your statement.


  • Is the pricing inclusive of taxes?

    No. Any applicable VAT will be charged in addition to the published price.


  • If I change or cancel my flight, will my Booster still apply?

    Yes. If your new flight qualifies for Status Points and falls within your active Booster subscription period, the bonus will still apply.

  • What is the refund policy?

    We offer a 7-day refund policy where we will provide a full refund for the last transaction provided that you have yet to fly any eligible flight in that timeframe.

    If you have flown any eligible flight within the first 7-days after purchasing the Status Points Booster subscription pass, you will not be eligible for a refund.
